Thursday, June 22nd – 8:30PM La Shica in concert at The Gleason Room at the Fillmore (1700 Washington Ave, Miami Beach)

Co-Presented with Centro Cultural Español.

La Shica is a Madrid-based artist who mixes the raw passion of flamenco with the girt of urban Hip-hop and rap, adding touches of rock and funk, and rounding out the sound with generous jazz and blues influences. Born in the miscegenation of funk and rap, and in her desire to find her own sound, La Shica develops her own hybrid language on stage, also incorporating movement and theater into her work, while maintaining a clean modernist aesthetic. La Shica captures and bewitches audiences with her grace and talent from the very first moment she opens her mouth, mixing the elegance and intensity of traditional flamenco with the sound of contemporary fusion, creating an exquisite, mysterious musical terrain inhabited by modern and ancient influences.
